Choosing The Right Air Mattress For Your Needs
Usually made of plastic or textile-reinforced rubber or plastic, an air mattress is also known as an inflatable mattress. Air mattresses are a popular choice for camping trips or as temporary bedding for guests at home because the deflated mattress can be rolled up and easily stored.
Orally, blowing into a valve, or using manual, foot-powered or electric pump are some of the ways you can inflate them. Also available are traditional mattress sizes like twin, queen, king, and full and standard sheets should also fit. Lightweight, reduced-size air mattresses specifically intended for camping and backpacking, often called sleeping pads, are also available.
Ruggedly-built air mattresses have come on the market in recent years that are intended for full time use in the home. These mattresses, which are made of rubber-impregnated fabrics or plastic, are usually equipped with an electric pump and firmness controller and are often mounted on special foundation.
Double beds have the advantage of having a firmness control with each half of the bed. This type of product is usually called an air bed, to distinguish it from camping mattresses. Some individuals who relocate frequently prefer an air bed over a traditional mattress due to its portability.
Air mattresses also refer to an inflatable swimming pool toy with an air-sac pillow and tubes running its length. Pool air mat, air mat, or lilo are some of the things this mattress is called and it is used to recline on the swimming pool’s surface. It looks similar to an air mattress but it’s not as strong and you can’t rely on it to stay inflated all night long which is why you can’t use it as a bed.
They call it an air bed. But it’s still an air mattress and attached to it is a little automatic electronic pump. I’ve been using this air mattress for at least 2 weeks now. I’ll continue sleeping on it for maybe another month since my sister and her fiance are in town.
