St. Lucia Will Recover Thanks To Tourism

Devastated by Hurricane Tomas, analysts are airing fears for the tourist industries of island nations like St. Lucia. The hurricane, which has claimed at least 14 lives so far, had the short term effect of preventing a number of cruise ships from docking, including Princess Cruises Caribbean Princess, Carnival’s Carnival Victory and Silversea Cruises Silver Spirit.

Though the ships were thankfully able to dock and bring supplies on November 8th, The devastation that Tomas caused will take significant time to clear and rebuild. St. Lucia is heavily dependent on Tourism: only banana production is as important to the Island’s economy. But with the banana crop destroyed and buildings flattened across the island, the island may find itself dependent on the relative autonomy of the Caribbean cruises that sail to the island regularly.

Thankfully, one joker up St. Lucia’s sleeve is the fact that its tourism is largely based on the allure of its stunning landscape. Boasting the same unspoiled beaches and verdant forests that people expect of any Caribbean island, the island is also one of the most mountainous, offering stunning views of the surrounding ocean. Its volatile volcanic past and more subdued present is constantly visible, and even the heaviest winds have failed to make a dent on it. With careful management and relief efforts, the infrastructure built up around these natural assets will return sooner rather than later. International help has been freely given, with the Japanese government pledging $180,000 to the governments of St. Lucia and nearby St. Vincent.

The situation in the immediate aftermath is that hotel accommodation in St. Lucia has been damaged. Water mains and other essential amenities are being slowly repaired and both domestic and industrial supplies are effected.. But It is business as usual for many souvenir shops and the many available off-shore excursion activities are operating. The resilience of the St. Lucians is already turning the island around, ready for another tourist season.

What can you do to help the Endangered wildlife of this world? Go on holiday

These creatures have been going extinct or endangered for all sorts of reasons. Is there however a prevailing force that is causing these creatures to become endangered. If you really think about it, you will understand that we are the main cause!

An endangered species is a term used to describe a species whose numbers have become so low it is at risk of becoming extinct. However there are a few planetary problems that we cannot anticipate, and of course survival of the fittest doesn’t have everything to do with us. If we are going to be honest it will be easy to see how much we have actually done to damage the world. First of all when a safari was first started it was designed as a hunting party for rich people to hunt animals that were considered a thrill to catch. The animals were hunted down and killed, because of this there are few of them left in the world.

We do not hunt all that many animals now as we did say a hundred years ago (mainly because they are all gone). All of the endangered species like the Tiger, Lion and Rhino are all protected. We instead are now trying to save as many creatures on the planet without directly injuring or killing them. Safari is the best way to get people on side, or to teach them about some of the problems in the world. Diving holidays have become very popular in the eyes of many governments to try and the marine life before it gets to even worse stages.

Pollution is proving to be another major problem; we may not be shooting these animals anymore. And although we are not hurting these animals directly, our actions with burning fuels, are causing climate change to affect them. We need to start showing people what they can do to help save the planet, yet enjoy themselves at the same time. Kenya safari holidays are a great way to have fun and see the world.

My Holiday in the Caribbean on 3 of the Best Islands in the world!

It was time for me to get out of the country and go on a decent holiday. It was time that i went and got on a plane and got away from everything, i have been working as a lawyer non-stop for the past 15 years and needed some time to relax. So starting off this new journey, what better idea is there than heading off to the Caribbean?

So I booked a two week holiday that would take me to three islands. The first was the Bahamas, a fantastic place of sun, sea and sand. I thought to myself that when i get here i just want to chill by the beach, little did i know i was going to find something i really wanted to try. Swimming with dolphins, this was my chance to indulge in swimming with one of nature’s most amazing creatures. These divine and majestic marine animals are both smart and friendly. I had a whole hour to myself with a trainer and one of these astonishing animals. The Bahamas was great, so far Caribbean holidays, well worth it.

So next I was taken to St Lucia. Although a small island, St Lucia had a lot to offer, ranging from celebrities to rain forests, i also saw Amy Winehouse, but was too nervous to ask for an autograph. Everyone kept on describing St Lucia to me as a sandy island with beaches and clear blue seas, which is true, but they forgot to mention the rain forest as well. Our guide took us out on a safari in the Caribbean, truly amazing. I had heard a lot about St Lucia holidays, but seeing it first hand was brilliant.

Next up was a real treat, Barbados. I had been looking forward to this last part of my holiday, I have always wanted to go on Barbados holidays, but it has not been completely available to me. This was the night life island, going out in the evenings was great fun and I had the most wonderful time, I would recommend these holidays to anyone that asks.
