Another Low Blow For Airlines

It would seem that the airline industry has once again taken a low blow and no I am not even talking about the strike that nearly put six of the UK airports in closure for a few days. well it is not strike talk this time for a chance but news that big travel company Kiss Flights have ceased trade thanks to a good number of reasons. so how has this come to be and what are people going to do if they have booked it already?

How It Happened

The main reason it would seem that this company has fallen victim to losing out is because of the ash cloud earlier in the year. Now this had a massive effect on the bigger aviation companies like Virgin and BA can you even imagine the kinds of effects it had on the smaller companies that rely on the flights they have to get by each year. the cloud interfered with things for quite a long period of time which meant that companies were falling into debt very quickly with no way out of it and this is when it gets hard for a company like this to make a recovery.

What Can People Do

Besides going to something like Torquay hotels or a nice spa breaks If you have booked through this company already you should be protected through ATOL so in actual fact you might and should be able to get your money back which is always good, if you are already on holiday the travel authorities have promised to fly you back on time so do not worry about coming back early. Although it might be too late to rebook flights now it could be the perfect time to do that work on the house or because book one of those Christmas holidays in advance.

I am sure it is all going to turn out fine for you!

Travel Agencies using smell to entice holiday makers!!

This new creation has all come about because of the recession, the travel agents need to get some higher conversion rates, and this technique appears to be working. Travel agents have been using some exotic smells in their offices to help remind customers of what they are missing out on. The smells are supposed to remind customers of previous holidays, trying to jog their memories.

Encouraging people to book holidays can be a quite a task unless they have already made up their minds. We may not be able to detect them immediately and we may not notice them at all, but it might be enough to convince you to take that holiday. These travel agents are using the smell of; oranges, and coconuts to create a different smelling experience for different places, oranges work well with the Mediterranean. Barbados have benefited from all kinds of sales techniques; they seem to be one of the most popular holidays this year.

Thompson has claimed that Coconut is the best choice and used frequently throughout their shops. This particular smell is that of Sun Cream Lotion, a very clever way to get people thinking about the sun and the sea. First Choice has been using a smell similar to that of an ice cream to appeal more to families. Caribbean sales recently have been doing very well.

However it has not been the Travel Agent who has first come up with this idea to play with our noses to increase sales. Travelodge used smells to keep memories of the place stored in people’s minds. They used the smell of freshly cut grass and apple pies to keep people memorable.

So how does this actually help them to boost sales? Well it is relatively clear; some smells can quickly call on the memory to remind us of times we have had in the past. Although these smells are noticeable it isn’t a conscious realisation that we are remembering this smell from somewhere else. All the aroma will do is make us feel a certain way, sometimes we may remember where it is from but more than likely it will cause an emotional reaction. So try St. Lucia for that relaxing experience, and a relaxing new aroma!
