The Many Different Shades Of San Francisco
California is a state with plenty of cities that draw tourists all year around, yet perhaps not one of them are such an incredible mix of the exceptional historical destinations and vibrant progressive culture. There is always so much to see and do here that we can’t actually discuss it all, but allow us to try, shall we?
First off, you need to understand that San Francisco itself is home to over 800,000 people, but with large communities like Oakland and San Jose right there within the Bay Area, there are nearly 7.5 million people here altogether (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco). Nearly everyone knows that San Francisco is the home of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, the popular island prison which can still be toured these days. Also, a well known Chinatown with its huge sculpted lions and one of the most widely recognized gay and lesbian areas in the country, there are many different shades of this city. In 1776, the same year the United States declared its independence from Britain on the East Coast, the Spanish established San Francisco as a fortress city. From the glory days of the early Gold Rush era to the Summer of Love in 1969 that found many people converging on Haight Ashubury, San Francisco is full of history. That is also where US military departed from when they headed to World War II’s Pacific theater.
For those who have strong aesthetic awareness, the Victorian buildings of this city together with its famous hills and ocean fog are definitely a great visual stimulation. A lot of healthy, vegan and other dining establishments are available here, along with every type of ethnic cuisine you can imagine. This is a truly multicultural city with people coming from every location of the world. Fisherman’s Wharf is home to an amazing Aquarium and there is certainly much to do in the sea, also. Art is prospering here these days with a number of galleries to discover, theater to enjoy and more live music than most people could possibly take in in a lifetime. This is precisely what would make this such a magnificent trip.
Keep in mind, too, that this is among the biggest areas for business worldwide. Events are conducted here on a regular basis and bluegreen corporation resorts are often considered so that you can provide people a great stay. There are lots of accommodations of every stripe waiting to be uncovered. That is what makes this one exceptional destination to visit.
We have only just scratched the surface, but as you see, San Francisco is where history meets with an amazing contemporary atmosphere steeped in culture with so much to explore. Tasting San Francisco will surely be said to be similar to getting a tiny sip of the finest the world has to offer. It’s no surprise that it’s a world class location for fine wines.
