Granada – Colonial pearl
It is easy finding a hosue or apartment to rent but there are a couple of things to remember. Allways remember that there are two different Granada and one Grenada (West Indies). Granada Spain and Granada Nicaragua. If you search for a “Granada rental (Spain & Nicaragua)” in Bing, Yahoo or Google you will get hits from both cities. Even if you search for “Granada rental spain” it is common for hits from the other Granada to show up. I can thererfore not exaggerate the importance of making sure that the rental is in the right granada. This is extra important as some landmarks etc has the same names in both cities.
Remember to book well in time if you arrive during high season but other than that you should have no problem finding something. The properties that can be found when you arrive is cheaper than the ones on the internet so if you are on a budget it can be good to look for a long term rental after you arrived.
Both Spanish and Nicaraguan Granada is home to high and low end properties. Rentals can be found in all price ranges. Research your house well before you rent as price cant be used an indicator of standard or location.
If you are looking to rent a car while you are in Granada, Nicaragua you should make sure to factor in all the insurance costs in your budget. Rental companies often require a large deposit and if you are involved in an accident that you cause you can be personal responsible for the damages and not be allowed to leave until they are paid, this can be the case even if you have insurance
